New Chief of Naval Staff: Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar, presently Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) Western Naval Command, has been appointed as the next Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS).
New Chief of Naval Staff: The Central Government has announced the appointment of Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar as the next Chief of Naval Staff. R Hari Kumar will take over his new office on November 30. He is currently posted as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.

The current Navy Chief, Admiral Karambir will retire from service on November 30, 2021. According to the Defense Ministry, R Hari Kumar will take over the command of the Navy on 30 November after the retirement of Admiral Karambir Singh.
