Pinaka Extended Range 2021: Recently, Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully test-fired Pinaka Extended Range (Pinaka-ER), Area Denial Munitions (ADM) and indigenously developed fuses.
Following the transfer of technology from the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), a private industry manufactured these rocket systems, which have been tested at Pokhran. The ministry said in a statement, “During this, advanced range Pinaka rockets with different combat capabilities were tested at different ranges. All the tests were satisfactory.
The test-fire of the Pinaka rocket system was conducted at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, off Odisha coast. A total of 25 advanced Pinaka rockets were fired from the Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MRL) in multiple ranges during the test. The range version can destroy targets up to 45 km.
