Booster Doses For Frontline Workers, Seniors: Health workers, frontline workers and seriously ill senior citizens of the country will start receiving the third dose from January 10, 2022. From the night of January 08, appointments started being received on the Kovin website.
PM Modi named it ‘Precaution Dose’ instead of calling it a booster dose. This dose is being applied at a time when the cases of corona are once again increasing rapidly in the country due to Omicron. A booster dose of the corona vaccine will be administered to 5.75 crore people in the country. Out of these, one crore health workers, two crore frontline workers along with 2.75 crore elderly people above 60 years of age will be vaccinated.

Health and frontline workers as well as people over the age of 60 who have diabetes, hypertension and chronic diseases also have the option of receiving a “precautionary dose” on the advice of their doctor.
