Budget session of Parliament: President Ram Nath Kovind, while starting the budget session 2022 along with his address, while addressing both the houses of Parliament, informed about the schemes being run during this period from the Corona epidemic.
Budget Session 2022: The Budget Session 2022 of the Parliament began with the address of President Ram Nath Kovind on 31 January. The President started his address by mentioning the Corona epidemic and the vaccination program. In his address, the President mentioned the steps taken by the government for small farmers and women. He also mentioned the triple talaq law.
The budget session begins with President Ram Nath Kovind addressing both the Houses of Parliament. The budget session will continue till April 8. Between which there will be a break of one month. The timings of both the houses will be different during the budget session – Rajya Sabha will sit from 10 am to 3 pm and Lok Sabha will sit from 4 pm to 9 pm.

Key Points of Budget 2022:-
- Before the budget, President Ram Nath Kovind said in the address that the government made record government procurement keeping in mind the record production. Registered growth of more than 25 percent in agricultural exports in the year 2020-21. This export reached about Rs 3 lakh crore.
- 80 percent of the farmers of the country are small farmers, keeping in mind their interests, more than 11 crore farmer families were given 1 lakh 80 thousand crore rupees through Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi.
- President Ram Nath Kovind said during his address that the government is making all efforts to deal with Corona. A free ration is being given to the poor.
- The largest food distribution program is being run in India and it has been extended till March 2022.
- Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission started by the government at a cost of 64 thousand crores is a commendable step.
- Giving equal status to sons and daughters, the government has also introduced a bill in Parliament to increase the minimum age for marriage for women from 18 to 21 years. Entrepreneurship and the skills of mothers and sisters of the country have been promoted through Mudra Yojana. The ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative has shown positive results.
