IPL 2022: Tata group to replace Vivo as IPL title sponsors from this year…
IPL title sponsor 2022: Indian Premier League (IPL) President Brijesh Patel informed on January 11, 2022, that Tata will replace Vivo as the title sponsor of IPL 2022. He told that in the meeting of the IPL Governing Council on January 11, a decision was taken regarding the title sponsor of the Tata Group’s IPL.
Vivo was removed from the sponsorship of the 2020 IPL after the clash between the Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galvan Valley in the year 2020. Instead, the Dream11 title sponsor was made. Vivo returned to the IPL in the year 2021. The same title sponsor will remain in this year’s tournament as well. Vivo still has two years left in its sponsorship deal with the IPL and as a result, the Tata Group will continue to be the main sponsor during this period.
Vivo had bought the title rights in the year 2018 for Rs 440 crore annually. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed that Tata will replace Vivo as the main sponsor for the upcoming edition of the tournament. Now IPL will be called ‘Tata IPL’.
