Lala Lajpat Rai Jayanti: Born on 28 January 1865 in Moga district of Punjab, Lala Lajpat Rai was a successful politician, lawyer, and writer. His father Munshi Radhakrishna Azad was a teacher of Urdu.

His father Munshi Radha Krishna Azad was a great scholar of Persian and Urdu and his mother Gulab Devi was a religious woman. Lala Lajpat Rai was instrumental in the establishment of the Punjab National Bank.
In 1886, the family of Lala Lajpat Rai came to Hisar. where he started advocating. And there he founded the nationalist Dayanand Anglo-Vedic School. He was a follower of Dayanand Saraswati who founded the Arya Samaj.

Lala Lajpat Rai’s father was a teacher in Government Higher Secondary School, Rewari. From there he did his primary education. He participated as a representative during the annual sessions of the National Congress of 1888 and 1889. He moved to Lahore in 1892 to practice in the High Court.
Political Activities:
Since childhood, he had a great passion for service to the country and took a vow to free the country from foreign rule. During his college days, he came in contact with patriotic figures and freedom fighters like Lal Hans Raj and Pandit Guru Dutt. Lajpat Rai was an advocate of adopting a revolutionary path to liberate the country. He was against the policy of the Indian National Congress. Along with Bipin Chandra Pal, Aurobindo Ghosh, and Bal Gangadhar Tilak, he also believed that the Congress policy was having a negative impact. He advocated Purna Swaraj.
