One Nation One Ration Card Scheme: Recently, the Chhattisgarh government has started the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme. Under this scheme, eligible consumers of the state can take their quota of food grains from any ration shop across the country.

Not long ago, the Department of Food and Public Distribution had reviewed the progress of the States and Union Territories towards the implementation of the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ (ONORC) scheme. National Food Security Act (NFSA) ONORC scheme for nationwide portability of ration cards was implemented in the state of Chhattisgarh from February 02, 2022.

35th state to implement this scheme:-

Chhattisgarh state has become the 35th state/UT to implement the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme. At present, under ‘One Nation One Ration Card’, about 2.5 crore portability transactions are being registered in the States/UTs on an average every month.

While implementing this scheme, the statement said that with the integration of Chhattisgarh, the ONORC scheme is now implemented in 35 states/UTs covering about 96.8% of the NFSA population in the country (about 77 crore NFSA beneficiaries). is over.

Benefits of the scheme?

The benefit of this scheme will be for those ration card holders who work in other states. Ration cardholders will be able to buy food grains at a lower price from the government ration shop in any part of the country. The Government of India has started the ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ scheme to deal with the problem of food security.

One Nation, One Ration Card Scheme:

This scheme was started in the year 2019 under the Inter-State Portability Facility of Ration Cards. The benefit of the One Nation One Ration Card will be available to all the people holding the card. Migrant laborers will get the biggest benefit from this. Ration cardholders will be able to take food grains from any state at the government rate. About 65 crore beneficiaries of 24 states/union territories are covered in this scheme, out of which 80 percent of the beneficiaries are covered under NFSA.
