Prevention of Unlawful Conversions Bill 2022: Recently, the Haryana Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal here on 08 February has approved the draft Haryana Prevention of Unlawful Conversions Bill, 2022. Which will now be presented before the assembly as a bill.
In this bill, influencing marriage by misrepresentation, wrong influence, coercion, inducement or any kind of fraud will now be considered an offense. This bill will be introduced in the budget session starting from March 2. Where it will be decided whether the elected representatives of the people pass it or not.
This bill provides religious freedom to the citizens. Under which the right to freedom of religion will be guaranteed under Articles 255, 26, 27, and 28 of the Constitution. The purpose of this bill is to uphold the principle of secularism in India.

There will be no bar on converting religion in the proposed bill. This is only to stop forcible conversion. If a person wants to change the religion of his own free will, then he can do it. But for this, he will have to inform the district administration. In this, the officials will check whether the conversion is being done under the pressure of any greed or threat. Only then will the change of religion be allowed.
