Covid-19 Booster Dose: Recently, taking a step further in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic in the country, the central government has decided that from April 10, 2022, all people above 18 years of age will be given a booster dose.
The Union Health Ministry has said that now from April 10, preventive doses will be available for people above 18 years of age at private immunization centers. According to the ministry, those who are 18 years of age and have completed nine months of taking the second dose, will be able to take the dose from private immunization centers.

According to the Ministry of Health, so far 96 percent of people above 15 years of age in the country have received at least one dose, while about 83 percent have received both. While about 2.5 crore people have also got precautionary doses. The first dose has also been administered to 45 percent of the people aged 12 to 14 years.
The vaccination campaign across the country started on 16 January 2021. Which health workers were vaccinated in the first phase. The vaccination of frontline workers started on February 2 last year. India started vaccination for all people above 45 years of age on 1st April last year.
