International Turban Day: International Turban Day was declared on 13 April every year since 2004 to bring awareness to Sikhs about the dire need to wear a turban as an essential part of their religion.
This year, Turban Day in 2022 marks the 553rd birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev and the festival of Baisakhi. Turban, also known as “dastar” or “turban” or “pag”. It refers to the garment worn by men and some women to cover their heads. Many non-Sikhs participate in these events and wear the traditional Sikh turban to show solidarity with the community.

History:
Since the year 2004, on Turban Day, Sikhs across the world organize various events to inform the general community about the turban in their locality. In these events, turbans of every color are represented and information about the Sikhs is displayed. Turban tying sessions are organized so that youngsters and others get a chance to wear turbans and take pictures of them for the first time.
