Nalin issued a statement in response to the Oscars 2023 nomination, saying,
“I could never have predicted that such a day would arrive and bring light
and celebration of light.
‘Chhello Show’ has received positive feedback from
all across the world, but I was left wondering how I might get India to find
it. Now I can take a deep breath and believe in the film that entertains, inspires,
and enlightens! Thank you, FFI, and Jury.”
RRR couldn’t manage to make its place in the Oscar
“RRR
may still be filed directly in all conceivable categories, including Best
Picture,” one user said alongside a joke from the Gangs of Wasseypur
franchise.
We missed out on nominations in the foreign film category because of
FFI’s ignorance. West Coast craze. The release of CHINA, JAPAN, and 28 other
nations will keep our #RRRForOscars campaign alive.”
Sumit Kadel,
a film critic, and trade analyst posted a moment from the SS Rajamouli-directed
film and remarked, “This sequence alone merits an Oscar this year.
”
RRR has my support and prayers. SS Rajamouli, Junior NTR, Ram Charan, and MM
Keeravani all deserve Academy Awards for the spectacle they produced, which has
made Indian film proud throughout the world!!”
Another
user disagreed, tweeting, “No question RRR is a fantastic movie and has
done well in the mass market, and I myself enjoyed it.” But, in terms of
the film as a whole, I don’t think it’ll be nominated for an Oscar.”
