The invention of click chemistry &bio-orthogonal chemistry has earned Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal, and K. Barry Sharpless the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2022.

Researchers Benjamin List and David WC MacMillan received the chemistry Nobel prize this year for inventing a creative, environmentally friendly approach to producing molecules that are “already tremendously helping humankind,” according to the Nobel committee.

Svante Paabo, a Swedish scientist, was given the Nobel Prize in medicine on Monday, kicking off a week of award announcements, for discovering Neanderthal DNA’s hidden information that was crucial for understanding our immune system. 

Tuesday’s physics prize was shared by three experts. Small particles can maintain a connection with one another even after being separated, a phenomenon called quantum entrapment, that can be utilized for highly specialized computer technology and to encrypt data.

This was demonstrated by the Frenchman Alain Aspect, the American John F Clauser, and the Austrian Anton Zeilinger.

Thursday’s honors will focus on literature. The economics prize will be awarded on Monday, whereas the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize will indeed be revealed on Friday. 

The rewards will be awarded on December 10 and come with a monetary prize worth 10 million Swedish kronor (almost $900,000).

The money was given by Alfred Nobel, a Swedish scientist who established the prize and passed away in 1895, and who also founded it.
