Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched an app called “Call Before You Dig” which will prove to be effective in protecting underground utility assets such as optical fiber cables from damaging underground utility assets.
Information about the ‘Call Before You Dig’ app:
The app has been jointly developed by the Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics, under the Ministry of Land and Information Technology of India and the Government of Gujarat. Its main objective is to preserve the country’s underground public infrastructure.
Why the need for the ‘Call Before You Dig’ app arose:
In the past years, the government and other companies have suffered a lot of damage to underground cables during excavation, after which it has been developed jointly by the Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics, working under the Ministry of Information Technology and the Government of Gujarat.
The “Call Before You Dig” app will facilitate coordination between miners and asset owners through SMS/email notifications and click-to-call options.
This will help the companies doing the work of planned mining and lines to work and ensure that the relevant authorities are informed before any digging.
Using this application, retail excavators will also be informed about the location and depth of underground useful assets, which will help them plan their work and avoid any damage to these assets.
The app will help reduce the cost of damaging damages caused by unorganized digging, and ensure that the nation’s underground facility wealth is better protected.
हाल ही प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने “कॉल बिफोर यू डिग” नामक एक ऐप लॉन्च किया है जो अंडरग्राउंड यूटिलिटी एसेट्स जैसे ऑप्टिकल फाइबर केबल को नुकसान पहुंचाने वाले अनुयोजित खोदाई से बचाने के लिए कारगर साबित होगा।
‘कॉल बिफोर यू डिग’ ऐप की जानकारी :
यह ऐप भारत के भूमि तथा सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय और गुजरात सरकार के तहत कार्यरत भास्कराचार्य अंतरिक्ष एप्लीकेशन और जियोइन्फोर्मेटिक्स संस्थान द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से विकसित किया गया है। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य देश के अंडरग्राउंड सार्वजनिक बुनियादी ढांचे को संरक्षित रखना है।
‘कॉल बिफोर यू डिग’ ऐप की क्यों आवश्यता पड़ी:
गत वर्षो में अंडरग्राउंड केबल्स का काफी नुक्सान खुदाई के दौरान सरकार व अन्य कंपनीयो को झेलना पड़ा है, जिसके बाद सुचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय और गुजरात सरकार के तहत कार्यरत भास्कराचार्य अंतरिक्ष एप्लीकेशन और जियोइन्फोर्मेटिक्स संस्थान द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से विकसित किया गया है।
कॉल बिफोर यू डिग” ऐप एसएमएस / ईमेल अधिसूचनाओं और क्लिक-टू-कॉल विकल्पों के माध्यम से खननकर्ताओं और एसेट मालिकों के बीच समन्वय सुविधा प्रदान करेगा।
इससे नियोजित खनन व लाइन्स का कार्य करने वाली कम्पनियो को कार्य करने में मदद मिलेगी और सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा कि किसी भी खोदाई से पहले संबंधित अधिकारियों को सूचित किया जाए।
इस एप्लिकेशन के उपयोग से, खुदरा उत्खनकर्ताओं को भूमिगत उपयोगी संपत्ति के स्थान और उसकी गहराई से भी अवगत करवाया जायेगा, जो उन्हें अपने काम की योजना तैयार करने में मदद करेगी और इन संपत्तियों को किसी भी नुकसान से बचाने में मदद करेगी।
यह अप्प असंगठित खोदाई द्वारा होने वाले हानिकारक नुकसान की लागत को कम करने में मदद करेगा, और सुनिश्चित करेगा कि देश की भूमिगत सुविधा संपदा बेहतर ढंग से संरक्षित हो।
