AIIMS, Delhi (Based on score in the MBBS).

The AIIMS, New Delhi has again begun accepting online applications for recruitment of Junior Residents (Non-Academic) in January 2024. Those who are interested may apply through the official website aim exams. ac.in Eligibility requirement is having completed an MBBS or BDS degree recognized by the MCI (Medical Council of India) and DCI (Dental Council of India).

The Junior Residency selection will rely on the score of their MBBS exam for AIIMS candidates and ranking in the INI-CET PG entrance examination (January 2024 session) for graduates from other universities located in New Delhi. No age limit has been set for this kind of recruitment. (Current Affairs )

At the same time, in another corner of India Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has opened its recruitment for jobs as Dairy Supervisor and Sugar Cane Supervisor. Job applicants may correspond through the official web page psc.uk.gov in Qualifications have been set at Intermediate in the Agriculture field, Indian Dairy diploma, or an equivalent higher technical qualification from a recognized institute. The age range will vary from 21 to a maximum of 42 years of birth. There can be some relaxation for candidates hailing from reserved categories, however.

The Wrestling Federation elected Sanjay Singh as its new President.

Turning the focus to sports administration, Sanjay Singh was elected as president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on December 21. In particular, she defeated Commonwealth Champion Anita Singh Sheoran. The opposition candidate, Prem Lochab also staked a claim to the post of General Secretary. One of the election’s notable figures is Anita Singh. The wrestlers who were opposed to Bhushan had support from the Sports Ministry and Singh.

Lok Sabha passes three new criminal law bills.

A major development in legislative action was the passing on December 20 of three criminal law bills by the Lok Sabha. The passage of these bills means that they will be submitted to the Rajya Sabha and, if passed on there too, sent for Presidential assent. Also, police must register an FIR within three days of receiving a complaint and complete a preliminary investigation in 14 days.

Of particular importance is the fact that actions which involve a risk to national security or public property are regarded as treason, and rape of a girl under 18 years of age carries life imprisonment plus death sentence. General penalties for gang rape are between 20 years and life imprisonment, while mob lynching carries the death penalty.
