UGC NET Eligibility for 2024

When submitting an application for any position on the NTA UGC NET exam application, you must verify that the position and its requirements are correct. These are the specific requirements for eligibility that apply to UGC NET 2024:


1. According to UGC NET Education Eligibility, candidates who have taken and are still awaiting the results of their qualifying master’s degree (final year) examination may sit for the UGC NET 2024 Examination \ According to UGC NET Eligibility Criteria, candidates who have earned at least 55% in their Master’s degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in the fields of social science, computer science & applications, electronic science, humanities (including languages), etc., are eligible to take this test.

2. For Ph.D. holders: Graduate degree holders who passed their Master’s level test before September 19, 1991, (regardless of the date the results were announced) will be eligible for a 5% aggregate mark relaxation, or a drop from 55% to 50%, when taking the NET.

3. Regarding the transgender category, the same age, fee, and UGC NET JRF Eligibility (i.e., JRF and Assistant Professor) relaxations as those granted to the SC/ST/PwD categories would also apply to the transgender category. The topic-specific cut-offs for this category have to be the lowest in the related subject when compared to the SC/ST/PwD/OBC-NCL categories.

4. For the Reserved Category: Candidates who have earned at least 50% of the possible points in a Master’s degree or an equivalent exam and belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Persons with Disability (PwD) categories are eligible to take this test.
